| Woman killed in house fire: Sardis | |||
|
One person was killed in a fire early Saturday morning in the Harrison County community of Sardis.
Fire fighters responded to the call on Little Rock Camp Road just outside of Sardis at around 4-30 in the morning. State Fire Marshal Mackey Ayersman says Sabrina Eaton woke up when the smoke alarms went off. Eaton's mother in law, 82 year old Winona May Eaton was trapped in her bedroom. Her son tried to get to her but was unable to. The victims body was found on the floor of the bedroom. Ayersman says a short in a light in the bathroom caused the fire. Winona May Eatons body has been sent to Charleston for identification and to determine her cause of death. This incident occured in Harrison County.
