3 killed in Rt 25 accident:   McWhorter
An accident turned deadly Wednesday afternoon in southern Harrison County.

Firefighters say three people were killed in the accident in McWhorter.

Thursday, sheriff's deputies released the names of the victims. They are: Randall Flanigan, 20, Adam Robinson, 19 and Terry Flint Jr., 18

All three were Clarksburg residents.

Just before 4 p.m, a pickup truck and a passenger car collided at the intersection of Route 25 and Duck Creek Road.

The three men were in a 1991 Honda Accord.

Deputies say the car crossed the center line, slid sideways and hit a 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck head on.

The truck was driven by Virginia Metz, 77 of Lost Creek.

Metz was taken to United Hospital Center in Clarksburg with minor injuries.

At least three volunteer fire departments for Harrison and Lewis Counties, the Harrison County Sheriff's Department and the State Police were called to the scene.

A number of emergency workers on the scene told reporters that it was the worst accident they had ever seen.

Deputies have not said excatly what caused the accident, but did say the roadway was damp and weather could have played a factor..

Accident reconstruction teams from the Harrison County Sheriff's Department, the State Police and the Division of Highways were all part of the investigation.

Deputies say the investigation into exactly what happened could take some time to complete.

This incident occured in Harrison County.
