| Several animals killed in barn fire: Pinch | |||
|
Ten animals died in a barn fire early Monday in the Kanawha County community of Pinch.
The animals, all sheep and goats, were in a barn on Hope Acres Road when the fire started about 5:30 a.m. The family also lost all its farming equipment in the blaze. The cause of the fire hasn't officially been determined, but the barn's owner thinks it may have been triggered by a heat lamp. "And just yesterday we had these little baby goats in the house playing and our kids are really upset about that. And we had a heat lamp in there and they may have knocked that over," said owner Jessica Linhart. No family members were injured. Firefighters did have some trouble keeping their hoses from freezing in the frigid early morning temperatures. This incident occured in Kanawha County.
