Man injured in house fire: Smithfield

A Wetzel County man was injured in a house fire around 3:00 Sunday afternoon.

The fire broke out at a home off of Ten Mile road near Smithfield.

Four fire departments from Wetzel County and one from Harrison County responded to the scene.

Dispatchers say one man was in the home when it went up in flames.

He was taken to United Hospital Center and will likely be transported to a burn unit in Pittsburgh.

No word on how the fire started.

This incident occured in Wetzel County.
