| Apartment building destroyed by fire: Bridgeport | |||

A fire destroyed a Taylor County apartment Thursday morning.
It happened at the Briarwood Apartments, in a unit where nobody was home. A neighbor called for help and firefighters had it under control within hours. They are still looking for the the cause of the fire. Firefighters say no one was injured. Firefighters say the apartment was equipped with fire prevention safeguards, which helped contain the fire to the unit and prevent the damage from spreading. Bridgeport firefighters responded to the call. The apartment are just over the Harrison-Taylor County line. This incident occured in Taylor County.

| Warehouse: Bluefield |
|
A Bluefield warehouse was destroyed by fire early Thursday.
Firefighters say the fire started around 12:30 a.m. in the old armory building on Hill Street. The building was being used for furniture storage. It was completely destroyed. The fire is under investigation, but the State Fire Marshal's office says it does not appear suspicious. This incident occured in Mercer County. |
